Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

I try to keep a Fusion Beads tape measure in my bag at all times, but every once in a while I’m caught without one. If you’re in a bind you can use today’s trick to take a wrist measurement on the fly!

Tools for measuring your wrist with a ruler

This is how I take wrist measurements when I don’t have a flexible tape measure, but I do have a ruler. It can be tempting to try this trick with a piece of yarn or a ribbon, but fibers can stretch and give you an inaccurate measurement. Instead cut a thin strip of paper, no wider than an inch and at least 10 inches long. I like using the margins of notebook paper for this trick because it has an easy line to follow when you cut!

Wrap the wrist you’re measuring in your strip of paper, making sure the fit is comfortable. Mark where the paper overlaps.

Wrap the paper around your wrist and mark

Lay the paper strip flat and measure it with your ruler. Now you have a reasonably accurate wrist measurement!
