Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

tuesdaytipsandtricks-520x210Experimenting by laying out beads in different patterns is my favorite way to plan a strung piece.  And today’s tip to use a bead board will make designing your next strung project a breeze!

Use a bead board for strung designs

A bead board is a great time saver for designing a strung necklace or bracelet. It enables you can see exactly how your beads look together without taking the time to string them. By lining up your beads in the labeled grooves of the board you can plan the exact length of your finished piece and figure out how many beads you’ll need to complete it. These boards also have compartments to keep your beads contained and close at hand while you work. It’s super easy to move beads around the board, from groove to compartment and back, as you try out new combinations!

I usually try at least 3 different layouts before I finalize my design. It’s been especially hard to pick just one pattern with these bold fire polished round glass beads and our new glass pearls!
