Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

7.16-TIPS-AND-TRICKS-BANNER-IMAGESummer’s still going strong here in Seattle, but everyone’s trying to squeeze in trips to the coast and the mountains before the rain starts again. It’s hard for me to travel without taking at least a few of my favorite jewelry pieces, especially earrings. Today’s trick will help you keep your earrings in pairs as you travel this summer!

You only need one supply for this trick – 2 or 4 holed buttons. We all have single buttons lying around, so it’s time to repurpose them! To keep your earrings from straying when you’re on the go, put the posts or hooks of the earrings through the holes in your button. Make sure to attach the backs of your posts or add a clear plastic earring back to keep your French hooks from slipping out.

You can use buttons to display earrings for your shop or store them at home. I love this trick because it lets me show off my favorite earrings and buttons all at once!

  • I love this idea! Fantastic! I end up throwing my earrings into a brocade pouch from my grandma, but having them organized on her vintage buttons would be even better!

Wonderful idea! Coming to Seattle (Ballard/Whittier Heights) in October. I always make a point of stopping at your shop and spending WAY too much money.

I keep my earrings in the tiny plastic sealable bags, the kind that seed beads often come in. I have a jewelry roll that I made years ago with pockets in, this enables me to keep all the bracelets, necklaces and earrings apart which also helps.

What a great idea!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Great tip! I love this idea!!! I’m going to try it for both my next art festival, The Redmond Town Center Arts Fest, and my travels there.

    Bravo!

  • Great idea and good way to use vintage buttons!

I love this idea! It is perfect for traveling, but also for at home. There are so many times I have one earring and can’t find the second one. Problem solved!!
