DIY Jean Cuff

We just launched a great new tool on our site: the Crystal Applicator Tool! This fabulous gadget is used to set a variety of stylish Swarovski Crystal components into fabric: Jeans Buttons, Decorative Buttons, Snap Fasteners, Rivets, and Rose Pins. I was so excited to try the tool out once I laid eyes on it that I thought up a fun project almost immediately: upcycling some old jeans into a cute and fashionable cuff bracelet!

I started by removing the the belt loops from the jeans, being careful to not cut the waist band (this will serve as the base of my bracelet).

I then cut a section of the waist band that measured my desired length for the bracelet. I made sure to keep the section that had the button hole, as I wanted to use it as part of the bracelet clasp.

Following the Using The Crystal Applicator Tool with Jeans Buttons technique, I attached a Crystal AB Swarovski Crystal Jean Button to the end of the waist band opposite the button hole. Once the button was set, I put a nice, clean finish on the cut end of the waist band with a whip stitch and jean thread.

Finally, I attached Crystal AB Swarovski Crystal Rivets randomly around the cuff bracelet to embellish it and give it a little bling. And voila – a cute new bracelet ready for a fun night out on the town! Be sure to check out all of the cute inspiration we designed using this amazing new tool!

Happy Beading!
