Lots of the crafters I know get stuck when it comes to making jewelry for the men in their lives. I usually get stumped too when it comes time for Father’s Day gifts, but this year I’m making stretchy bracelets! These bracelets are easy to wear and even easier to make, so you can use today’s tips to make one for each dad you know!
When making stretchy bracelets for myself I use 4-6mm beads, but to get a manlier look I increased my bead size to 8-10mm. You can finish stretchy bracelets either by crimping or by knotting. Guys tend to be harder on clothes and jewelry than women, so if the holes in your beads allow it, double your elastic cord for extra durability and don’t forget to glue your knots or crimps.
Round wood beads are great for stretchy bracelets. They’re comfortable enough to wear all day and go with just about anything. You can add meaning to your bracelets by choosing a gemstone or charm that has a special significance.
