Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

tuesdaytipsandtricks-520x210I don’t know about your families, but the women in mine love being reminded of their children. This year for Mothers Day I decided to make a necklace for my grandmother that incorporated not only the birthstones of her children, but also her grandchildren and great grandchildren!

One of the best tools for a birthstone project like this is our Birthstone Q&A. I used this chart to pick out the Swarovski crystals that corresponded with the birth month of each person in the family. I didn’t want to use bicones in my necklace, so my next stop was our Shop All Swarovski Elements Crystal By Color section. Here I could find the birthstone colors I needed and see each shape the colors were  available in!

Grandma loves pearls, so I decided to use Swarovski Crystal Pearls to create a neutral background for the crystals. There’s one round crystal in this necklace for Grandma and one for Grandpa, then a crystal for each of their children, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s birthstones. Four generations in one necklace doesn’t look too bad!
