Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

Stabilizing your camera minimizes the shaking and vibrations that can turn a perfectly framed jewelry photo into a blurry mess. The best way to make your camera stable is to use a tripod. But if you don’t have a tripod yet or find yourself unable to take a tripod to your photo shoots, you can use today’s tips to take clearer photos!

Even if it’s just you, a camera and your jewelry you can still take crystal clear photos – you just have to become the tripod! People naturally sway when we stand, even when we think we’re being completely still. Reduce your own motion by leaning on something solid, like a tree or a wall. If you’re seated make sure what you’re sitting on is stable and won’t wobble when it comes time to press the shutter button.

The farther you hold your camera from your body the more likely your photos are to be blurry. Try bracing your elbows against your sides to keep your arms steady. Take a deep breath and exhale completely before pressing the shutter button on your camera. You might be surprised how big of a difference you get in your photos!

    Thank you Cheryl!

Your question is a great one for a camera store. The camera I use has a threaded opening in the bottom where it can attach to a tripod. I’d recommend looking up your brand and model of camera and doing a little research to find out if it is tripod compatible and what tripod would work best with it.

    Happy beading!
