Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

I love wrapping presents almost as much as I enjoy making them, so with the holidays fast approaching today’s tip will help you wrap up your holiday gifts in a secure and cute way! Small jewelry pieces like post earrings or a dainty chain necklace can be tricky to package. They can get lost inside the padding of a gift box or become disastrously tangled. To keep things tidy inside a present, I make paper cards for my earrings and necklaces.

To do this all you need is heavy paper, a safety pin, a ruler, a pencil and a pair of scissors. I use my fancy craft store scissor to make fun shapes on the edge of the cards. Measure the length of your earrings or pendant before cutting the card to make sure the jewelry fits on it. For earrings, I measure and mark where I want to poke holes so they’re evenly spaced. Make holes in the card with a safety pin before poking your earrings through. For a necklace you can either make holes or cut a small slit at the top of the card and thread the piece through. Try re-using a little baggie from a past order to contain the rest of the necklace on the back of the card.

If you’re looking for just the right gift bag or box, take a look at this post from November!

Happy Tuesday! -Gretchen
