Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

FusionBeads.com is not only a great source for projects and supplies, but we have lots of tools online to help you design your own projects! Our Beading Q&A is packed full of handy information about products, techniques and designing. And the Helpful Design Tips section has two charts that I refer to when planning almost all of my stringing projects.

Before purchasing beads for a project, you have to figure out how many you need. That’s easy to determine if you’re only using one or two beads as focal points, but estimating the number of beads for a stringing project can be difficult. Since beads are usually measured in millimeters and jewelry is designed in inches you would normally need to do a little math to figure out how many beads you need, but not anymore!

To make designing fast and easy, we’ve created sizing charts for the most popular bead sizes that not only list how many of each size beads are in one inch, but also show how many of each size you need to make the most popular lengths of necklaces and bracelets. If you need information that’s not on the charts and want  help converting from millimeters to inches, take a look back at this handy Tips and Tricks post from March!

And don’t forget to look through the rest of our Beading Q&A for other great tips!

Happy Tuesday! -Gretchen
