Tuesday Tips and Tricks!

We all polish our silver from time to time, sitting down and rubbing dingy silver jewelry until it shines with its original brilliance. But when was the last time you cleaned your brass jewelry?

There are commercial brass cleaners available at your local hardware store, but I prefer to use a more natural method when it comes to cleaning brass. It’s time to turn to the refrigerator and get out your handy ketchup bottle! Apply a small amount of ketchup to a soft damp cloth and rub your tarnished, discolored brass. When finished, wipe the metal clean with a clean, damp cloth. You can then use a dry cloth to buff your fresh-looking brass to a high shine!

The ketchup method works best on regular brass. If your brass is the Natural Brass made by Vintaj, the best way to clean it is with a few drops of mild liquid soap mixed with warm water. Gently rub this cleaning solution on to your Natural Brass and rinse thoroughly before drying.
