My favorite place was Costa Rica. It is such a beautiful country and the beaches are awesome. The people there are so nice. And, did you know that Costa Rica has NEVER had a war. They don’t have anything that other countries want so they are left alone. They also have EARTH University which educates students from all over the globe how to recycle and make something new out of everything already used (one example is turning coffee grounds into writing paper)

Water! Any water! It doesn’t have to be England’s Lake District or Fiji — although they would be nice. Even the neighborhood park pond puts me in a happy, happy space.

  • Last fall we got to go to Honolulu Hawaii to celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was so much fun we would love to go back and visit the other islands as well!!!

  • Wow, I would love to get these two bracelet kits!! If I don’t win, I may have to purchase them anyway!! lol. They would be perfect for working on while on vacation. To me, beading is a vacation in itself, as it is relaxing and very therapeutic for me. I would say that my favorite vacation spot would be on the beach anywhere with warm weather and spending time with family and friends. So if I win, I will be getting a double vacation!! lol

  • There is no place like the Kalaloch camp ground on the coast of Washington state. It has beautiful beaches for miles and sunsets that will take your breath away! Sitting near the edge of the ocean working on my loom bead projects has to be as close to Heaven as anyone can get. It also is very near the Olympic National Rain Forest with all it’s gigantic oldgrowth trees dating back hundreds of years. This area is the perfect place to bring yourself back to nature and get inspiration from everything around you. I always return home with fun ideas!

Any place away from home is good, but I find water-related vacations the most relaxing and rejuvenating. My favorite vacation location is Lake Powell, Utah on a houseboat. I love to create jewelry from things I collect while on vacation and things that remind me of that vacation.

  • oceanside california

  • Positano, Italy. It’s like entering a time warp. Charming seaside town where you get to slurp Limoncello with abandon!

  • Karen Purvis

St. Augustine, Florida because of the history and Jekyll Island, GA because of the sea turtle conservatory. Historic places and these magnificent creatures always thrill me.

My favorite vacation spot is Tucson, AZ. I live in CT and my son went off to college at the University of AZ in Tucson in 2006. He now has graduated and lives in Tucson, so my visits are two-fold. I hadn’t been beading long at that time and knew nothing of the yearly Tucson Bead Shows. I fell in love with the area at once. Such a rugged landscape, much different than CT! We stayed in the foothills on our first visit and the night sky was spectacular! The sunsets are amazing! It wasn’t long after that, that I learned about the Bead Show and have made Tucson in February my vacation destination for the past three years! I now get to visit my son AND take advantage of the best in beading!

  • I enjoy peyote outside on my patio, in the warm sunshine. My best vacation would be to take my travel kit and project back to Hawaii, on a day with a slight breeze (so my beads do not blow away)a little overcast. Using the colors of the ocean and items found around me. With my Hubby reading beside me looking over and smiling at me. I hope to take that trip very soon! Yet 1 part will never happen again. My Hubby passed away less than a year ago so this will be a solo trip of snorkeling and beading on the beaches we loved together.

  • Christy Perkins

Natchez Trace State Park in Tennessee. My husband & I went there last month. We stayed at the Pin Oak Lake campgrounds. It was absolutely beautiful. The sunsets over the lake were amazing & the people we met were wonderful. Camping is my all time favorite place to be. That’s when I feel the closes to God & nature
