We want to see how creative you can be! We’ve put together a group of products from FusionBeads.com that embody the bright, fun colors of summer. If you’re up for a challenge, we want you to design and create a piece of jewelry using these products (click here to purchase them). Use these beads and chain with any items in your bead stash along with your creativity and individual style and you could be one of three people who will win a $75 gift certificate! Read on to figure out how it works:

Alternate chains:
UPDATE: Since the bead challenge has been so popular, we have run out of stock of CN4104! We want to give everyone a fair chance to partake in the challenge, so we have added two alternate chains that you can use. There is a photo of them below and they are listed last on the sku list above. Feel free to use any one of these chains in your design! Thank you for your patience and we’re sure that you’ll come up with beautiful designs using any of the chains.

The Way it Works:
1. Please purchase the quantity listed for each sku in the product list above. You must use at least 75% of the total amount of product in the list, however we would love to see you use even more of it!
2. Create a piece of jewelry (any type of jewelry) using the product list as well as any other products of your choosing. These can be items that you already have in your bead stash.
3. Send a detailed photo of your finished piece of jewelry, your name, your e-mail address and your mailing address to blog@fusionbeads.com. (Your contact information is needed so that we can contact you if you win, but we will NEVER give it to any other sources). If you have a website or blog that you would like us to link your photo to when we post it, please include that as well.
4. All entries must be received by Monday, August 15, 2011.
5. On Friday, August 19, 2011 we post a blog that shows all of the eligible entries that were sent in to us.
6. On Friday, August 26, 2011, we will post a blog that announces the prize winners of the bead challenge! If you want to win, study our judging rules below…
Judging Criteria:
1. Use of at least 75% of the challenge product listed
2. How well the challenge product is showcased in your piece
3. The individuality and creativity of your design
4. The quality of your work
The Prizes:
A panel of jewelry designers at FusionBeads.com will choose 3 winners, based on how well the judging criteria is met. Each winner will receive a $75 gift certificate to FusionBeads.com! The winners will then be contacted via e-mail. FusionBeads.com gift certificates are only valid for places that we ship to.
Good luck, be creative and have fun! – Sara

It would really be great if you could sell the whole thing in a challenge kit. Or am I not seeing one that’s already put together?
Argh — this is the busiest part of my wedding-filled summer! Promise me you’ll do more of these come fall — I love beading challenges!
Sounds like fun. Love the color combination.
This sounds great. Hope I can get the supplies and complete a design before the deadline. Hope to see lots of entries.
Good luck to us all.
Diane, unfortunately we do not have all of the products in one kit. However, you can follow this link to a chart where you can order all of products in one spot: http://www.fusionbeads.com/inspiration/inspiration_detail.php?ipid=2724 There is a list on the top right of that page which tells you the quantity of each that you’ll want to purchase. Good luck!
Can’t wait to get the kit in the mail. Let the creative juices start flowing…
The chain is out of stock, will you be getting more in soon?
Chain is already sold out.
So how are contestants submit to the challenge when CN4104 – 4.2mm Matte Gold Double Oval Rollo Chain – 18 inches is out of stock??
That’s it? We’re all out of luck??
We are temporarily out of stock of CN4104, but are working on getting more stock ASAP! To receive an e-mail when the chain is available again, please type the item number into the Keyword Search box in the upper right-hand corner of any page of our site. When the product page opens, click the button that says “E-mail Me” (when this product is restocked), fill in your e-mail address, and you will automatically receive an email when the item is available. We are very excited about the overwhelming response to this challenge and are looking forward to seeing all your designs- thank you for your patience and understanding!
Since we have run out of stock on CN4104 and we want to give you all a fair chance to partake in the challenge, we have added two alternate chains that you can use. There is a photo of them on the blog now and they are listed at the end of the sku list. Feel free to use any one of these chains in your design! You do not need to use all three of the chains to satisfy the rule that states that you must use 75% of the product. Have fun!
Question – does it HAVE to be jewelry?? Or can it be any beaded work of art??
I have been working furiously on my piece and having so much fun. I just hope I can get it done in time. I was worried that I might not have enough of the watermelon seed bead mix so have ordered more just in case. Hope they get here in time. I don’t expect to win but this is so much fun….always wanted to do one of these. Thanks for doing this and hope you do another one soon.
I thought I read that we could send up to three pictures am I wrong on that? I am afraid that one picture is not going to be enough to show all the detail. But if we can only do one then one it is.
We will only post one photo on our results blog, but you can send us as many images as you’d like and we will select one to show on the blog! We can’t wait to see what you make!
Can the entries be submitted on Monday the 15th?
just finished my piece!!!!!!!!!
You can submit your pieces to blog@fusionbeads.com through midnight tonight! On Tuesday morning, we will be selecting the winners!
When will the entries for the 1st ever blog contest be posted?
